 It is my distinct honor and privilege to present an overview of Timpany school in my capacity as Director.

Timpany School, a minority institution founded, by the Canadian Baptist Overseas Mission Board in 1931 is focused to serve the cause of education. Year after year the school has achieved stellar results at the ICSE, ISC and CBSE respectively. The schools are run on Christian principles and offer students a complete education of body, mind and spirit, irrespective of community and creed.

ACADEMIC FOCUS AREAS :-

(i) MASTERY OF SUBJECTS :- The school ensures the child is equipped with a knowledge of Languages, Mathematics, Science, Social Science and other specialized courses at all levels.

(ii) ANALYTICAL THINKING :- Students are taught to consider various perspectives, find solutions and solve or derive a conclusion.

(iii) CRITICAL THINKING :- Students are encouraged to think critically and apply their thoughts to real life situations and hence face the world.

(iv) COMMUNICATION IN ENGLISH :- Pupils develop the art of speaking, communication, expressing themselves freely, concisely, logically in English.

(v) UNITY AND HARMONY :- Students are motivated to work in unity and harmony for programs, discussions, debates, sports, activities both in and out of the classroom.

(vi) ALL ROUND DEVELOPMENT :- Incorporating the 3 R's - Reading, Writing, Arithmetic. Timpany believes in the importance of giving a child the best of academics and extra and co- curricular activities to make the child blossom in all parameters.

(vii) ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION

* COMPREHENSIVE TESTS - Two comprehensive exams are held twice a year along with orals, aurals, projects, records and class tests and quizzes with teachers evaluating using various techniques for different levels.

* PARENT TEACHER MEET - Every month, on the 2nd Saturday, a parent teacher meet is held to assess the child, to guide and advise on areas that the child needs to improve, thus enabling in the child's holistic development, and creating a congenial environment whereby the child thrives.

Career counselling workshops are conducted to help the student in understanding the career best suited for them.

A professional counsellor is always present on the campus to deal with peer-pressure or different stress related issues of the student.

3. Prahari Club:

Under the directive of the DEO, the School has formulated the Prahari club. The club sensitizes and ensures the safety of students against substance abuse.

Key Achievements (2023-2024)

1. Indian Principals Network (IPN) Impact Honours, 2023 recognised Mrs Vandana Abraham of Timpany School as one of the top hundred Principals.
2. Alana Meenakshi, a leading Chess Champion, student of Timpany School was invited as a special guest for the Republic Day 2024 by the Governor of Andhra Pradesh. She is also the recipient of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar Award for the year 2023.
3. Students of Timpany School achieved various winning positions at different levels in the competitions of Abacus, Tennis, Badminton, Throw ball, Lawn Tennis Cricket, Karate, Chess and Classical Dance.
4. A Timpany School teacher has been awarded the Aswam Award by Way Foundation and United Heritage Arts and Cultural Organisation.
5. Timpany students also excelled in various Literary Competitions like Debate, Declamation, Quiz, Spell Bee, International Maths Olympiad, International English Olympiad, National Science Olympiad at National and International levels.
6. Timpany School has young writers who authored and published books.

SPORTS AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:-

* Students participated in state and national level games like volleyball, throw ball, cricket, basketball, badminton, skating, football, lawn Tennis and have achieved success.

* TSPL - Timpany School Premier League is conducted every year, for cricket. It is an Annual Inter-School event.

* School conducts a sports day every year to encourage the physical fitness of the child.

* A WALK-A-THON took place called ' GLEE-A-THON ' encouraging the importance of physical fitness.

 

CREATIVE ARTS AND CULTURAL PROGRAMS:-

* Cultural programs are conducted on special days of the school calendar like Grandparents Day, Children's Day, Teachers Day, Independence Day and such other important days.

• Every year, a musical extravaganza is held to bring out the talents of the students.

 

STUDENT COUNCIL:-

 Timpany School appoints Captains, Vice Captains and Sports Heads from grade 12 and 5, to take the responsibilities in monitoring the students.

  

CLUBS:-

• An Eco club conducts programs and seminars, to bring awareness of the environment.
• A Literary club conducts debates, extempore, recitation, declamations, speech to encourage children to linguistically adapt.
• MUN organized by class 12 is held every year to bring awareness about the political world.

COMMUNITY SERVICE:-

* Beach Cleanup project is conducted regularly by the students.

* SWACHH BHARAT - The students took to cleaning around the school premises.

LIFE SKILL DEVELOPMENT:-

* TRANSDISCIPLINARY - The school conducts an Inter-School Transdisciplinary Project competition. It encourages children to research on various topics.

* PICNICS, FIELD TRIPS AND EXCURSIONS are conducted yearly. It is an amalgamation of learning and fun activity.

Students are taken on National and International trips every year as learning expedition.
